Premier Windscreens Edinburgh – Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: July 3, 2025
1. Introduction & General
All transactions are subject to these terms and conditions. By requesting vehicle glass repair or replacement services from Premier Windscreens Edinburgh, you agree to these terms. If your service is covered by an insurance claim and you are not the policyholder, you confirm that you have full authorization from the policyholder to proceed.
2. Appointments
Services are provided by appointment at an agreed location. If work cannot be performed under cover, it is subject to weather conditions. Poor weather may require rescheduling. While we aim to arrive at the agreed time, unforeseen circumstances may cause delays. Premier Windscreens Edinburgh is not liable for any financial loss due to appointment changes.
3. Working Hours & Out-of-Hours Charges
- Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM (excluding Bank Holidays)
- Out-of-hours service charges:
- Cars & LGVs: £100
- HGVs: £200
- Bank Holidays: Additional charges apply unless otherwise agreed.
4. Payment Terms
Payment is required upfront for all work undertaken unless you have a trade account. Once work commences, the payment is non-refundable.
5. Windscreen Repairs
If repair is possible, we will attempt it. However, the cosmetic appearance of a repaired windscreen cannot be guaranteed. Some visible damage may remain. If you are unsatisfied with the repair’s appearance, we can replace the windscreen at an additional cost. Repairs may fail, resulting in cracks. If this occurs, you may opt for replacement, with payment adjusted accordingly.
6. Hardware Damage & Pre-Work Damage
Damage to your windscreen may also affect other parts of your vehicle, which may not be initially visible. We are not liable for additional repair costs. This includes but is not limited to HUDs, mounted cameras, rain/light sensors, and window mechanisms. A pre-work inspection will document existing vehicle damage. We are not liable for pre-existing damage, whether visible or not.
7. Rusted Bolts & Components
We are not liable for rusted bolts that may snap or shear if they are deemed to be in poor condition (e.g., never been oiled or greased). This includes front and rear wiper arms and may include vehicle windscreen side trims. The fact that Premier Windscreens Edinburgh was the last to remove the affected components shall not be construed as an admission of liability.
8. ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) & Recalibration
Vehicles with ADAS cameras (e.g., Lane Departure Warning, Collision Sensors) require recalibration after windscreen replacement. We offer recalibration services or can advise you to arrange recalibration at your own expense.
More information: ADAS Code of Practice
9. Photographic Documentation
We may take photographs for documentation, including damage records, registration details, and insurance information. These may be used for promotional purposes, excluding personal details.
10. Corrosion
We cannot install a windscreen on corroded metal. If corrosion is found, we will halt work and advise you accordingly.
11. Warranty
All replacement work is guaranteed for 1 year, covering installation, workmanship, and leakage. Repairs must be conducted at a Premier Windscreens Depot during normal hours. Warranty is void if outstanding payments exist or if damage is due to prior corrosion or bad weather conditions. Proof of purchase is required for warranty claims. Warranty applies only while you own the vehicle.
12. Liability
Premier Windscreens Scotland is not responsible for:
- Loss of income, business, or profits due to our services.
- Loss of vehicle use or related costs.
- Indirect or consequential damages.
13. Using Dealerships & Accident Management Companies
If you use a dealership or accident management company for repairs, costs may exceed those of Premier Windscreens. We are not responsible for any additional charges incurred by using their services.
14. Customer-Supplied Glass
Work involving customer-supplied glass or removal/reinstallation of glass is at the customer’s risk.
15. Safe Drive-Away & Washing Guidelines
After windscreen replacement, follow the advised drive-away time before using the vehicle. Do not wash the vehicle for 48 hours to allow adhesives to cure. Leakage due to early washing is not covered under warranty.
16. Waste Disposal
We will remove and dispose of damaged vehicle glass at an authorized waste site.
17. Insurance Claims
If claiming through insurance, we will verify coverage where possible. You are responsible for any excess payments. If the insurer declines the claim, you must pay the full retail cost. If the policyholder is VAT registered, they must pay VAT on our services.
18. Trade & Fleet Accounts
Trade/company terms take priority over standard terms. Discounts and special rates may be void if payments are not settled within agreed terms.
19. Fraud Prevention
We reserve the right to refuse card payments if fraud is suspected.
20. Payment Methods & Online Discounts
Payment via Card or Cash Only. We do not accept cheques. Online windscreen excess discount: 20% (maximum discount: £20).
21. Title & Debt Collection
We retain ownership of installed goods until full payment is received. If insurers do not pay within 30 days, you are personally liable. Unpaid debts may be pursued through third-party collection agencies.
22. Independent Branches
Premier Windscreens Scotland operates through independent branches:
- Aberdeen: Roger Allen t/a Premier Windscreens, 20 Mearns Street, Aberdeen, AB11 5AT
- Edinburgh: David Conquer t/a Premier Windscreens, 55 Bankhead Crossway South, Edinburgh, EH11 4EP

Each branch is independently operated. Claims should be directed to the relevant branch and do not involve others.
23. Glass Removal & Refits Performed by Us for Bodyshop / Accident Management
All glass removal performed by Premier Windscreens Edinburgh on behalf of a bodyshop or accident management company is done as a experienced gesture. Most manufacturers recommend full replacement rather than removal and refit of vehicle glass due to the complexities of the glass and incorporated trims, seals, and components.
- We are not liable for any damage to glass caused during removal or refit, including broken, cracked, or weakened glass.
- We do not accept responsibility for cut trims, encapsulations, seals, or adhesives altered or damaged during bodyshop or accident management procedures.
- This includes damage to heated rear window terminals, glass antenna cables, and other integrated components.
- Any repairs or replacements required due to bodyshop or accident management-related damage are the responsibility of the bodyshop or accident management company.
