Premier Windscreens Edinburgh – Vehicle Glass Repair and Replacement Services

By booking or requesting vehicle glass repair, replacement, ADAS calibration, or related services from Premier Windscreens Edinburgh, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

2. Services Provided

We provide automotive glazing services including but not limited to:

  • Windscreen replacement
  • Windscreen chip repairs
  • Side and rear glass replacement
  • Heated rear window replacement
  • ADAS calibration services
  • Van conversion window fitting
  • Insurance-approved vehicle glass repairs
  • Mobile fitting services

All services are subject to vehicle inspection, glass availability, technician safety, weather conditions, and correct vehicle information being supplied.

3. Appointments & Mobile Service Conditions

Services are provided by appointment at an agreed location.

Customers must ensure:

  • Safe and legal vehicle access
  • Adequate working space around the vehicle
  • Compliance with parking restrictions
  • Vehicle accessibility at the agreed appointment time

Mobile installations requiring outdoor work remain subject to weather, temperature, humidity, safe installation conditions, and adhesive curing requirements.

Poor weather or unsafe conditions may require rescheduling.

While we aim to attend within agreed appointment windows, exact arrival times cannot be guaranteed due to traffic delays, previous job overruns, emergency call-outs, supplier delays, or weather disruption.

Premier Windscreens Edinburgh shall not be liable for losses arising from appointment delays or rescheduling.

We reserve the right to postpone or refuse work where conditions are unsafe, the vehicle condition presents safety concerns, access is restricted, corrosion prevents safe installation, or incorrect vehicle details were supplied.

Additional charges may apply for failed appointments or inaccessible vehicles.

4. Glass Availability & Vehicle Information

All quotations remain subject to correct vehicle specification, VIN/chassis verification where required, ADAS compatibility, and supplier stock availability.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, replacement glass may be OEM, OEE, or aftermarket manufactured glass meeting relevant safety standards. Branding, tint, shading, acoustic properties, and appearance may vary from original factory-fitted glass.

Where incorrect vehicle information is supplied, pricing and availability may change.

5. Windscreen Repairs

Windscreen repairs are intended to improve structural integrity and reduce further cracking.

Customers acknowledge that cosmetic appearance cannot be guaranteed and some visible damage may remain after repair.

Repairs may fail due to existing damage stress and cracks may spread during the repair process.

Windscreen chip repairs are not covered by our 12-month workmanship warranty.

If a repaired chip later spreads, cracks, or fails, a replacement windscreen may be required. Where Premier Windscreens Edinburgh carried out the original repair, the cost of the repair may be deducted from the replacement cost, subject to inspection and approval.

6. ADAS Calibration Disclaimer

Modern vehicles frequently require Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) recalibration after windscreen replacement.

Systems may include:

  • Lane departure warning
  • Collision avoidance
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Traffic sign recognition
  • Driver monitoring systems
  • Forward-facing cameras and sensors

Calibration may incur additional charges and requires suitable conditions and compatible equipment.

Certain vehicles may require dealer-only procedures or specialist recalibration services.

Where dynamic ADAS calibration requires the vehicle to be driven, the customer confirms that the vehicle is roadworthy, legally insured, taxed, and compliant with all applicable road safety regulations.

ADAS calibration work is not covered under our 12-month workmanship warranty.

Premier Windscreens Edinburgh accepts no liability for:

  • Pre-existing ADAS faults
  • Manufacturer software limitations
  • Calibration limitations caused by vehicle condition
  • Previous accident damage
  • Non-OEM modifications
  • Undisclosed warning lights or faults

7. Electronics & Vehicle Systems

Modern vehicles contain sensitive electronic systems connected to glazing components.

While all reasonable care is taken, Premier Windscreens Edinburgh cannot guarantee against unrelated electronic faults, warning lights, battery issues, software faults, module failures, or sensor errors occurring during or after repair where unrelated to workmanship.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Rain/light sensors
  • Heated glass systems
  • Cameras
  • HUD systems
  • Electric window mechanisms
  • Vehicle security systems

Vehicle battery disconnection or diagnostic procedures may result in temporary resetting of clocks, radio presets, trip data, fault memory, or driver assistance settings.

8. Corrosion, Hidden Damage & Pre-Existing Issues

Vehicle glass removal may expose hidden corrosion, rust, paint defects, structural deterioration, historical accident repairs, or previous poor-quality installations.

Where severe corrosion or unsafe bonding surfaces are identified, installation may be postponed or cancelled until repairs are completed.

Premier Windscreens Edinburgh shall not be liable for:

  • Damage caused by corrosion
  • Bonding failure due to rust
  • Existing leaks
  • Hidden structural defects
  • Additional rectification work required after removal
  • Pre-existing vehicle damage whether visible or not

A pre-installation inspection may be carried out and documented.

9. Paintwork, Trims & Previous Repairs

During removal and refitting procedures, trims, clips, mouldings, or fixings may become brittle or break due to age, weathering, previous repairs, or manufacturer design.

While reasonable care is taken, Premier Windscreens Edinburgh cannot guarantee against breakage of aged or previously damaged components.

Where vehicles have previously undergone body repairs, paintwork refinishing, corrosion repair, or non-factory repainting, we cannot guarantee against paint, lacquer, trim, or bonding surface damage during removal procedures.

10. Customer-Supplied Glass

Any work involving customer-supplied glass or components is carried out entirely at the customer’s risk.

Premier Windscreens Edinburgh accepts no liability for:

  • Defective supplied parts
  • Incorrect fitment
  • Compatibility issues
  • Breakage
  • Delays caused by supplied components
  • Warranty claims relating to customer-supplied parts

11. Broken Glass Fragments

While all reasonable care is taken during removal and cleaning procedures, small glass fragments may remain within inaccessible areas of the vehicle including but not limited to door cavities, tailgates, air vents, drainage channels, trim sections, seals, or locks.

Premier Windscreens Edinburgh shall not be liable for unavoidable residual glass fragments remaining after completion of the work.

12. Safe Drive-Away & Vehicle Care

Safe drive-away times vary depending on adhesive type, weather conditions, and vehicle specification.

Customers must follow all technician aftercare instructions before operating the vehicle.

Failure to follow technician aftercare advice may invalidate warranty coverage.

Vehicles should not be washed for 48 hours following installation to allow adhesives to cure correctly.

Water ingress caused by early vehicle washing is not covered under warranty.

13. Warranty

Premier Windscreens Edinburgh provides a 12-month workmanship warranty covering installation defects and water leakage directly relating to our workmanship.

Warranty claims must be reported promptly and may require proof of purchase or invoice reference.

Warranty applies only while the original customer owns the vehicle and is non-transferable.

Warranty does not cover:

  • Stone chip damage
  • Windscreen chip repairs
  • ADAS calibration work
  • Accidental damage
  • Vandalism
  • Corrosion-related failures
  • Manufacturer defects
  • Stress cracks
  • Body flex movement
  • Pre-existing damage
  • Early vehicle washing
  • Failure to follow aftercare instructions

Premier Windscreens Edinburgh shall not be liable for glass breakage or stress cracks occurring after installation where caused by vehicle body flex, existing damage, structural movement, poor road conditions, corrosion, temperature changes, or external impact.

Warranty may be void where outstanding balances remain unpaid.

14. Payment Terms

Payment is required immediately upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing or under approved trade account terms.

We accept debit cards, credit cards, and bank transfer payments.

We reserve the right to request payment in advance, refuse suspicious payment methods, or refuse work where fraud is suspected.

Ownership of installed goods remains with Premier Windscreens Edinburgh until full payment has been received.

Unpaid debts may be referred to third-party collection agencies.

15. Insurance Work

Insurance work remains subject to insurer approval, policy conditions, excess payments, and vehicle eligibility.

Customers remain personally responsible for excess payments, VAT where applicable, rejected claims, unpaid balances, and charges not authorised by insurers.

If an insurer refuses payment, the customer remains fully liable for all charges.

16. Trade & Fleet Accounts

Trade account terms may override standard customer terms where agreed in writing.

Failure to maintain agreed payment terms may result in suspension of account facilities, withdrawal of discounts, or recovery action.

17. Consumer Cancellation Rights

Customers booking online or by telephone may have cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

However, where the customer requests work to begin within the cancellation period and the service has commenced, cancellation rights may be lost once work has started.

18. Cancellation Policy

We request as much notice as possible for cancellations or rescheduling.

Charges may apply for:

  • Missed appointments
  • Failed visits
  • Late cancellations
  • Ordered specialist glass
  • Non-returnable parts

19. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Premier Windscreens Edinburgh shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of income
  • Loss of business
  • Vehicle downtime
  • Hire vehicle costs
  • Accommodation expenses
  • Missed appointments
  • Consequential losses
  • Manufacturer defects
  • Electronic faults unrelated to workmanship

Any concerns regarding workmanship or alleged damage must be reported to Premier Windscreens Edinburgh as soon as reasonably possible following completion of the appointment.

Nothing within these terms excludes statutory consumer rights under applicable UK law.

20. Privacy & Data Protection

Customer data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR legislation.

Information may be used for booking administration, insurance processing, invoicing, warranty administration, customer communication, and fraud prevention.

We may take photographs of vehicle damage, vehicle registration numbers, glass damage, and installation work for quality control, insurance evidence, and training purposes.

We do not sell customer data to third parties.

21. Website Usage

Pricing shown online is indicative and subject to vehicle verification, glass specification, supplier pricing, and availability.

22. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland and the United Kingdom.

Any disputes shall fall under the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
