Access for accident repairs

Remove the glass before body and paint work begins.

Accident damage can leave a bodyshop needing clear access around roof panels, pillars, apertures, quarters or tailgates. We can assess and remove the relevant vehicle glass, then return to refit suitable glass after the repair and refinishing work is complete.

The aim is to remove glass intact where practical. This cannot be guaranteed because pre-existing chips, cracks, stress, corrosion, previous bonding work and hidden accident damage can increase the risk of breakage.

A coordinated service

Glass support around the repair schedule.

We confirm what is needed before removal and plan the return visit when the repaired aperture is ready.

Assess the vehicle

We check the glass type, visible condition, repair access and proposed schedule.

Remove carefully

The glazing is removed using an appropriate method, with intact removal as the objective where condition allows.

Return and refit

Suitable glass is prepared and bonded back into the repaired aperture after body and paint work is complete.

Required mouldings, clips, trims, adhesives or replacement glass are discussed separately. Vehicles with cameras or driver-assistance equipment may require calibration after windscreen refitting.

Frequently asked questions

Useful things for bodyshops to know.

Can bonded glass always be removed without breaking?

No. We work carefully, but glass condition, accident stress, corrosion and previous bonding work can affect the outcome.

Can you remove fixed side and quarter windows?

Yes, subject to inspection. We can assist with bonded side, quarter and rear glazing needed for body repairs.

Do you return to refit the glass?

Yes. A return visit can be coordinated once the repaired aperture and paintwork are ready, provided the glass remains suitable.

What should the bodyshop send?

Please provide the registration or VIN, photographs, glass position, repair location and expected removal and refit dates.
